As a Student Funding Advisor, you'll play a vital role in helping students navigate fee payments, loan funding, and related queries. You'll handle inbound enquiries, provide proactive outbound support, and work closely with our university partner finance teams to ensure every student receives an outstanding service.


This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and enjoys problem-solving. You'll need initiative, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative Student Success team. The position is broad in scope and requires a high degree of initiative and self-management to deal with a range of functions and tasks. You will be equipped with a comprehensive working knowledge of the university's policies and procedures, meaning you can advise the students appropriately.


You will be expected to work autonomously and be accountable for your goals, think for yourself, push the boundaries, and above all bring a high level of energy and passion to the team.


We work to a hybrid model with 2 days per week in our Birmingham office.


Requirements



Key Responsibilities



Be the first point of contact for student funding queries via calls, emails, and messages. Provide clear guidance on payment processes, loan funding, and fee options. Proactively reach out to students to ensure their funding arrangements are on track. Review and verify payment plan figures to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies. Maintain accurate student funding records. Collaborate with university finance teams to resolve issues and deliver a seamless experience. Contribute to projects aimed at improving funding support and student success. Share best practices and support team initiatives to enhance service quality.

About You



Strong customer service skills with a professional and empathetic approach. Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. Numerical proficiency and confidence in reviewing financial figures and payment plans is essential. Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively. Confident with IT systems and proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel). Problem-solving mindset with a proactive attitude. Flexible and adaptable to new tasks and processes. Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.
The salary for this role is up to 26,000 per annum, dependant on experience.
