Position Overview:
The Student Services Officer plays a vital role in supporting the student experience from arrival through to completion of studies. This position focuses on delivering high-quality support to international students, ensuring their smooth transition into school life and ongoing welfare.
Main Responsibilities:
Student Support & Engagement:
Welcome and assist students during pre-arrival, arrival and induction.
Provide guidance on settling into the UK, including practical matters such as opening bank accounts and accessing local services.
Act as a first point of contact for student queries, ensuring timely and helpful responses.
Support the coordination of student events, including induction activities and cultural programs.
Assist with maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and agents.
Admissions & Registration Support:
Assist with student registration and ensure accurate data entry into the school's MIS.
Help verify student documentation and maintain compliance with school policies.
Provide administrative support for admissions processes as required.
Communication & Customer Service:
Respond promptly to student and parent inquiries, prioritizing urgent matters.
Maintain clear and professional communication channels between students, parents, and staff.
Contribute to a welcoming and supportive environment for all international students.
Compliance & Record Keeping:
Support the Immigration Compliance Officer with UKVI requirements, including accurate record maintenance.
Ensure student information is kept up to date and handled in line with data protection regulations.
General Administration:
Prepare letters, certificates, and other official documents as needed.
Maintain organized filing systems for student records and correspondence.
Assist with reporting and documentation for internal and external purposes.
Person Specification:
Essential Knowledge & Experience:
Understanding of student support services and administrative processes.
Familiarity with data protection and record-keeping requirements.
Awareness of international student needs and cultural sensitivity.
Essential Skills & Attributes:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database systems.
Professional, approachable, and committed to student welfare.
Desirable:
Experience working in an educational setting with international students.
Knowledge of UKVI compliance procedures.
Experience working with iSAMS.
Additional language skills for supporting diverse student populations would be a distinct advantage.
