We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and committed individual with high expectations of themselves and a strong attention to detail. The purpose of this role is to work closely with the SENDCO and Senior Vice Principal responsible for Student Inclusion, taking specific responsibility for the administrative support related to Special Educational Needs and Inclusion and the school's statutory obligations in this area.
Your key areas of responsibility will include:
SEND and Statutory Administration: You will ensure the effective application and monitoring of systems that support practices related to SEND. This involves working closely with the SENDCO to ensure the accuracy and relevance of reports, and providing administrative support for them.
Data Management and Record Keeping: You will maintain and update accurate pupil data across relevant systems, including the SEND register, ensuring all information is accurate and accessible to authorised staff.
Meeting Organisation and Minutes: You will ensure efficient organisation of meetings, including annual reviews, ensuring clear, timely communication with all prospective attendees. You will also be required to attend and take detailed, accurate minutes for meetings.
Communication and Logistics: You will communicate clearly and accurately with a range of stakeholders, including parents/carers and Local Authority Officers. You will also support and manage administration systems for student travel arrangements, liaising with the Local Authority transport teams where required.
Behaviour and Performance Tracking: You will assist in maintaining a system for tracking and reporting on behaviour and attendance to inform positive behaviour policies. This includes formulating accurate data on exclusions, detentions, and sanctions, and reporting daily to senior staff on individual students causing concern.
You will work as part of a wider, supportive admin team, reporting to the Administration Manager.
Wellspring Academy Trust and Beacon Academy believe in investing in our staff. We have a strong CPD offer, and all new staff will receive a supportive induction programme. If you are driven to ensure the highest possible standards of care and student well-being, then we warmly invite you to apply and join our friendly and ambitious team.
We are a small school where strong relationships are central. To support this, we are introducing a new coaching group approach for staff and students in September. Our students are enthusiastic and respond well to strong, trusting relationships with staff. Having recently appointed new leaders at the Academy, Beacon Academy has a renewed focus on student development, both academically and personally. We are about to embark on new and innovative strategies in school, so this would be an exciting time to join the team.
