We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Lewes, a category B Prison located in East Sussex. HMP Lewes is a busy remand male prison with a capacity for around 750 inmates. You will be working within the Substance Misuse Team supporting patients with their recovery from alcohol or drug addiction.Hours Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week 0900 - 1730SalaryThis position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to xc2xa331,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.How will we support you?Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkRegional and national career development opportunitiesOur bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needsSupport from the wider teamCandidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.Main duties of the jobAs a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to a case load of psycho social patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • You will provide a programme of psycho social interventions, along with information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care on a one to one basis and through group work, supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks.
  • Youll make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke HiJ competency framework following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

  • Relevant degree/qualification or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and experience in the provision of structured psycho social interventions
