We are looking for people with experience working with primary school children to help out at our summer holiday club this year! This role would be perfect for people with a term time job or currently studying at college or university. Only suitable for people 17 or over. Qualifications would be beneficial but not essesntial.
You will be working with children aged between 4 and 11 including some children with SEND. Hours and dates can be flexible - maximum number of days available is 16 (weeks of 28th July, 4th August, 11th August and 18th August - Monday to Thursday only). You will need to be confident working with groups of children, able to support children to play and interact positively, join in games and lead a range of activities both inside and outside.
Applicants will need to be able to provide 2 referees and the position will be subject to a clear DBS and other safer recruitment checks.
Duties
Supervise groups of children playing inside and outside to ensure their safety and happiness, providing guidance and support as needed
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster positive relationships.
Initiate some adult led activities to engage children who may struggle to develop their own ideas
Drive activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development among children.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the holiday club space to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
Experience
Previous experience working with children is highly desirable
A background in early childhood education or related fields will be an advantage.
A genuine passion for working with children and contributing to their growth and development.
