Summary
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cook to join our team at Darlington Rugby Football Club in Darlington. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality food services that enhance our club's reputation and support our mission of community engagement through sport.
This position focuses primarily on Sunday breakfasts and Sunday lunches, with additional responsibilities for football hospitality, buffets, and club events as required. You will also cover our Kitchen Manager during holidays, taking the lead on Burger Nights and themed events featuring street food, parmos, and Sunday roasts.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook breakfast and Sunday lunch service to a high standard.
Oversee kitchen operations to ensure efficient food production and service.
Assist with football hospitality, event catering, and buffets.
Lead the kitchen during Burger Nights and other themed events when required.
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Assist with stock control, ordering, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
Collaborate with event coordinators to create tailored menus for functions.
Contribute creative ideas for menus and themed food events.
Foster a positive and professional team environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
Proven experience working as a Cook, Chef de Partie, or similar role.
Confidence preparing traditional British dishes, roasts, and street food.
Minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
Strong understanding of food safety and allergen management.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible and reliable, with weekend availability (especially Sundays).
Positive attitude, good communication skills, and team spirit.
Culinary qualification or equivalent experience preferred.
Pay: 12.50-13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 - 16 per week
