Job Description


We are currently looking to recruit a Supervising Associate / Solicitor to oversee the delivery of various legal processes relating to litigated debt recovery processes.

In this supervising role you will monitor and govern all legal activities across our Leeds Debt Recovery Delivery Centre and support to supervise our regulated Manchester Lender Services Delivery centre.

In this role you will work closely to monitor all proceedings and give real time feedback to Managers and Paralegals to continual improve quality and ensure all litigated activities meet the required standard.

Relationships:

  • Responsible to: Partner and Global Head of Delivery and Integration Manager
  • Works with: Colleagues across all DWF divisions, including Legal Operations, Commercial Services and Insurance Services
  • Liaison with: Employees at all levels within DWF and clients where necessary
Main Duties:
  • To manage and develop the Practice Group\'s existing knowledge and the continual improvement of our litigated processes and procedures
  • To identify and report any risks as soon as possible and create potential solutions
  • Monitor all quality for all litigated activities across the Debt Recoveries and Lender Services Team
  • Provide real time feedback to litigated work to Managers and Paralegals
  • Assist the Global Head of Client Delivery with new projects that come into Legal Operations and give advice on Litigated process best practice
  • Create a quality reporting function to monitor ongoing litigated work streams
  • Keep up to date with case law relating to debt recovery / enforcement and ensure we meet the required standards
  • Lead on any escalated cases that require Solicitor intervention / high profile cases
  • Fully investigate and provide suitable outcomes for any complaints that may arise from clients, claimants or defendants
  • Support with complex cases and provide comprehensive process mapping if required
  • Work with the division to embed client satisfaction into litigated processes
  • To support both internal and external client bid activity as and when required.
  • To role model and embed \'winning\' behaviours across the teams, delivering a commitment to the firms values, ESG, CSR and D&I agendas.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential:
  • Qualified lawyer / Solicitor with at least 3 years PQE experience ideally gained within a debt recoveries environment (other areas such as commercial will be considered)
  • Excellent drafting skills and the ability to supervise teams of varying experience
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Embraces technology and constantly looking at ways to improve
  • Ability to work to give feedback / challenge leaders across the division to mitigate risk
