About the role

Lead the day to day planning, coordination and supervision of rail plant maintenance activities at Hither Green Rail Depot, line?managing a team of plant fitters to deliver safe, compliant, right?first?time maintenance that maximises asset availability and supports delivery commitments.

What you'll be doing

Line management of a team of plant fitters and coordination of subcontractors



Depot leadership, HS&W, Stores, Fleet/Plant, Procurement, Commercial, Operations,


HR, Training.



Lead briefings and toolbox talks, Ensure compliance with depot procedures and PPE.



Promote environmental compliance and waste reduction.



Inducting visitors.



Manage rostering, leave, sickness, performance, and development.



Set people to work with clear briefs and permits.

Who we're looking for

The Ideal candidate will have experience supervising or leading plant maintenance or workshop operations & technical team members within an engineering discipline including; Rail, vehicle manufacturing etc



Understanding of safe systems of work and quality planning.



Stores/procurement knowledge.



Strong communication skills.



IT competent
