Job Summary
To support the management team by carrying out site surveys, quotations, toolbox talks van inspections, etc. To act as a Senior Engineer if / when required, supporting engineers with high level repairs. To supervise larger installations and projects and act as liaison between the engineers and the management team. The Supervisor position provides the Contract Managers with primary technical and administrative support as part of the delivery of all contract works
Main Responsibilities
Day to day supervision of all engineers and apprentices.
Surveying of sites, providing exacting survey detailed reports to include; measurements, technical evaluation, and estimated costs of works.
To report and verify all open works daily and to provide summary reports to Contract Managers on the status of all open works within the department.
To advise in good time, problems, time-scale, or resources to enable the successful delivery of all works.
Carry out and oversee repairs and remedial works including support function for engineers for high level faults and to use their fault diagnostics and repairs knowledge.
Organise and manage special projects and installations during the life of the projects.
Co-ordination and day to day management of direct & self-employed Engineers, plant, and equipment, to ensure that duties required are carried out efficiently and effectively within in the requirements of the company.
General department stock management including ordering of parts, allocation to engineers' and liaising with suppliers.
Role model engineering excellence and be an exemplar of standards of workmanship.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as required
Person Specification
The Supervisor will be required to demonstrate a high level of technical knowledge and experience both as a supervisor and as an engineer. The following abilities will be required by the Supervisor;
Supervisory and estimating experience, be able to compile estimates from schedule of rates.
Good written and spoken communication skills
Experience in Access Control, CCTV and Door Entry fault Diagnostics & Installation works
Good practical skills and problem-solving skills.
The ability to follow technical drawings, building plans and wiring diagrams
The ability to work carefully, methodically, and safely
The ability to ensure all work is carried out in line with the 'Health and Safety at Work Act
The ability to plan and organise other people's work, and motivate them.
Have high levels of communication skills including communicating effectively with customers and clients
The ability to work in a team as well as on your own
A head for heights and willingness to work in all sorts of weather
A willingness to work in confined spaces
Knowledge of Risk Assessment Process
Recognise and trained to work with vulnerable Persons

CSCS
To hold a valid full UK driving license
