to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on role responsible for supervising the end-to-end manufacturing process, ensuring health & safety compliance, maintaining quality standards, and providing technical leadership on the shop floor.
The successful candidate will lead by example, support operatives, and play a key role in delivering consistent, high-quality products while driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Compliance
Take full responsibility for health & safety on the shop floor
Carry out machine safety checks at required intervals
Ensure all procedures, policies, and safe systems of work are followed at all times
Process & Production
Set up tools and machines in line with production plans and works orders
Stabilise and maintain repeatable manufacturing processes
Follow correct machine start-up and shut-down procedures
Monitor cycle times and report deviations to management
Conduct tool checks, arrange maintenance where required, and ensure correct tool storage
Quality Control
Own end-to-end quality control of the manufacturing process
Conduct first-off and last-off inspections and patrol inspections as per Quality Control Plans
Ensure all quality paperwork, QCPs, and work instructions are correctly followed
Manage non-conforming product in line with company procedures
Ensure packed products are correctly labelled and documented
Supervision & Training
Supervise and allocate operatives across machines
Ensure operatives are fully trained, competent, and aware of expectations
Provide on-the-job training and record training activities
Hold operatives accountable for quality, productivity, and conduct
Promote teamwork, efficiency, and positive workplace behaviours
Shift & Handover Duties
Conduct thorough shift handovers, including production status and quality concerns
Ensure all production, scrap, and quality bookings are completed
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across the factory
For final shifts, ensure machines are safely shut down and premises secured
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a
Process Technician, Setter, or Manufacturing Supervisor
Strong knowledge of
health & safety, quality systems, and production processes
Experience in
machine setup, tool setting, and process control
Ability to lead, train, and motivate shop-floor operatives
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Confident communicator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
