Job Description

Due to significant growth, Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd UK is seeking a Supply Chain Administrator. Reporting to the Procurement Lead, the successful applicant will work closely with plant managers, project managers, site engineers, and QS/supply chain supporting various functional Transmission & Distribution projects. Key responsibilities include administrative and general office duties involving transcription, typing, record and file maintenance, data entry and telephone calls in support of the procurement team.


The main requirements include, demonstrated administrative experience in a business setting, GCSE qualifications or equivalent in English and Maths at grade C or above, proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat, strong communication skills, attention to detail, effective organisational abilities, resilience and the capacity to manage multiple tasks while adhering to processes.


The role is based in our office in Darlington.

Process material/plant/hire requisitions as issued by the projects in Oracle. Maintain effective communications with vendors and hire companies. Assist in the processing of invoices for agreed accounts in accordance with T&D policies and procedures. Ensure the maintenance of adequate contemporary records, including scanning and electronic filing of data. Maintain and track the status of all plant and hire equipment and inform projects. Liaise with project sites and Supply Chain to maintain hire validities and offhire. Populates templates and creates documents Have awareness of the Health and Safety at Work Regulations which relate to office practices.

Working within a procurement/supply chain setting would be advantageous Demonstrated administrative experience in a business environment is necessary, training can be provided for the right candidate Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and SharePoint for creation and completion of documents. Demonstrated attention to detail skills are essential or proven skills handling numerical data are desirable Demonstrated effective communication skills (written and verbal) Effective organisation, coordination, problem solving and multi-tasking skills, working to deadlines for high volumes of requests Confident and capable of dealing with colleagues from all business functions Resilient nature with an approachable, flexible and dedicated approach to work Self-initiative with the ability to prioritise multiple conflicting tasks, while applying mandatory defined processes Educated to minimum GCSE or equivalent (English and Maths - grade 4/C) are essential
