Job Description

The Role:



A manufacturing business supplying globally, based in East Yorkshire, is looking for a detail-driven and proactive Supply Chain & Production Coordinator to join their team. Working at the heart of our North Newbald HQ, this hands-on role bridges supply chain, production planning, and quality control, ensuring smooth order flow, accurate inventory planning, and timely resolution of supply issues. This is a key support role within a dynamic team, ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, cross-functional communication, and continuous improvement.



Key Activities/Elements



1. Supply Chain Coordinator


Raise and manage purchase orders for proprietary and production parts. Maintain accurate supplier records and product data in Business Central and Netstock. Track product lifecycle from R&D release to stock readiness. Send out quotation requests and manage basic procurement tasks. Monitor and update exchange rates, shipping costs, and raw material prices. Identify and report discrepancies in BOMs and engineering drawings.


2. Production Planning Support


Load and configure Assembly Orders for production jobs. Schedule and reprioritise production based on order and capacity. Communicate lead times and schedule changes with Sales and Warehouse. Order profiled parts and components to meet production demand.


3. Non-Conformity Reporting (NCR) Administration


Raise, track, and close NCRs in coordination with relevant departments. Analyse NCRs for KPI reporting. Ensure returned stock is correctly recorded and reconciled.




4. Continuous Improvement & KPI's


Support process improvement initiatives across supply chain and production. Assist in monitoring performance indicators like supplier OTIF and inventory accuracy. Help identify and implement efficiency gains in planning and purchasing activities.

5. Cross-Functional Support


Build strong working relationships across Engineering, Sales, Stores, Warehouse, and Finance. Provide support across the team, including during absences.




Key Personal Attributes:


Strong organisational and planning skills. Attention to detail with a methodical mindset. Analytical and proactive problem solver. Excellent communicator (written and verbal). Confident with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Teams, and Power BI. Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Business Central) and planning tools (e.g. Netstock) is preferred.
