Starting Salary: \xc2\xa321,189 progressing to \xc2\xa322,369 pa (pro rata for part-time) - Pay increase pending
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

An opening has come up for a support officer within the Sensory Services locality team. We are looking for a hard-working, organised and personable individual to join our team and support us as our service requirements continue to increase.

The Sensory Services team provide a locality specific service for the residents in Hertfordshire. Our client groups may also have other additional support needs including learning disability, physical disabilities, and mental illness. This post will provide business and administrative support to the individuals and teams within Herts Valley Older People Services as required.

We are looking for a confident individual, capable of using their own initiative and completing tasks within deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you will have some awareness or willingness to learn about our client group (older people).

As a Support Officer, you will be providing business and administrative support to a multi-disciplinary team of social workers, community care officers and their managers.

Your role will be to provide professional support, dealing with confidential and sensitive matters, answering telephone calls, and providing information as a first point of contact. You will undertake a range of duties such as note and minute taking, filing, scanning, photocopying, and dealing with general correspondence. You will have a key role in managing team commitments, arranging meetings, and receiving visitors.

You will be expected to have good communication skills, both verbal and written, and confident in dealing with enquiries from the public and other professionals, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service. You will need to have a flexible approach to responding to the needs of the team.

You will be:

  • Self-motivated, professional, and approachable providing excellent team support and best practice at all times.
  • Willing to undertake a variety of administrative tasks, operating within departmental policies and procedures
A competent administrator with experience of using Microsoft Office who is confident to be the first point of contact for Managers and possess excellent customer care skills.
