2 vacancies have now arisen within the Housing Department for a Support Officer in our Northern Team covering the areas of Clowne, Barlborough, Whitwell, Hodthorpe, and Creswell

The successful applicants will provide a floating support service to vulnerable people linked to the Council\'s Careline Service.

To be successful you will need

  • An awareness of issues relating to working with elderly or vulnerable people
  • Knowledge of Manual Handling good practice and technique
  • Recent proven practical experience of working with elderly and vulnerable people
  • Effective communication skills in order to deal on a face to face basis with tenants and members of the public
  • Ability to work on own initiative and alone during unsociable hours
  • Knowledge of the local area in order to find destinations especially in an emergency or out of hours call out situation
