Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and assistance to individuals in need, particularly those in assisted living and senior care environments. This position requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

Duties

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Support clients with dementia care by implementing behaviour management techniques and engaging them in meaningful activities. Administer first aid as required and ensure the safety of clients at all times. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring their safe transportation. Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel. Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages independence and enhances the overall quality of life for clients.

Skills

Proven experience in care roles, particularly in assisted living or senior care settings. Strong understanding of patient care principles, including dementia care and behaviour management strategies. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively as part of client support. Certification in first aid is highly desirable. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for this role.

Pay: 12.21-21.82 per hour
