Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with specific needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, or hospice care.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary. Assist with meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition. Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with challenging behaviours. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by following health and safety protocols. Document care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required. Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' well-being.

Qualifications

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient care practices, including first aid and medication administration. Experience in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is an advantage. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families. A caring attitude towards individuals requiring support and a commitment to their dignity and independence. Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including evenings or weekends. Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour
