Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including home care, assisted living, and hospice care. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The Support Worker will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for those they care for.

Responsibilities

Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Provide medication administration as per prescribed guidelines. Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting as required. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all health and safety standards are met. Document client progress and report any changes in behaviour or condition to the appropriate personnel. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those with dementia or requiring hospice care. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.

Requirements

Previous experience in home care, assisted living, or hospice care is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage. Certification in First Aid is preferred but not mandatory. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with physical mobility challenges. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. A caring attitude with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by client needs.
