Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated

Support Worker

to provide person-centred support to

children, young people, and families

in the community. You will play a vital role in helping individuals overcome challenges, develop life skills, and access services that promote their independence, safety, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide

practical and emotional support

to children, young adults, and their families in their homes and community settings. Assist service users in achieving

personal goals

, including education, social engagement, and independent living. Support families in

developing positive routines

, parenting strategies, and improved family relationships. Encourage young people to build confidence and life skills through structured support and community activities. Work collaboratively with social workers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies. Monitor and record progress through detailed case notes and reports, ensuring safeguarding and confidentiality at all times. Respond appropriately to crisis situations, escalating concerns in line with safeguarding policies. Promote equality, inclusion, and respect for cultural diversity within your support work.

Essential Requirements:



Experience supporting

vulnerable children, young people, or families

. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload. A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (if travel is required). Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

Desirable:



Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, Children and Young People, or similar). Experience working with individuals affected by trauma, mental health, or additional needs. Familiarity with EHCPs, care plans, or early help frameworks.
