Support Worker

Our teams provide individualised care and support for people with learning disabilities, autistic people and people with physical disabilities living in their community. At Brill House in Cox Green, we support

eleven

customers with a variety of needs and complexities, from mild to profound learning disabilities. We recognise that each person has unique interests, needs and preferences and we support customers to live as independently as possible. Our customers receive support where they need it and we ensure that they are offered a wide range of activities, from learning domestic tasks to attending college local day services, and always allow plenty of time for fun.

We are recruiting a

support worker

to work

full-time

covering a mix of mornings, afternoons and weekends.

Your role will be to support our customers in their day-to-day lives and could include assistance with personal care, managing medication, shopping and meal preparation, and supporting with emotional and physical wellbeing. We also provide support with life skills such as improving confidence, managing finances and being part of the local community to maintain important relationships.

Experience in the care sector would be beneficial but is not necessary as full training is provided, including classroom-based learning, shadowing experienced staff and online sessions.

Ideally we are looking for someone who can drive Brill House's automatic vehicle and support our customers to attend activities and access services in the community. As several of the activities run later in the day, the majority of the shifts for this position will be afternoon and evening hours.
