We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including senior care facilities, hospice care, and assisted living environments. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in need, ensuring their comfort and dignity while promoting independence.
Duties
Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support individuals with daily living activities and encourage participation in social and recreational activities.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
Assist with behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs, including dementia care.
Perform heavy lifting as required to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
Maintain accurate records of client care and progress.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualised care plans.
Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients by following health and safety protocols.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
Senior care or assisted living environments.
Hospice care settings.
Childcare or behaviour management.
Nursing home experience is advantageous.
First aid certification is preferred.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a genuine passion for helping others, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
