Oneness Children's Home is a nurturing, safe, and therapeutic solo placement designed to support one young person who requires stability, compassion, and consistency. Our mission is to provide a high standard of care within a structured and trauma-informed environment where the young person can feel secure, valued, and empowered to grow. We are currently seeking a committed and empathetic Children's Home Support Worker to join our small, dedicated team.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, person-centred care and support to the young person living in our home. You will work on a rota basis, covering 10 shifts per month, including sleep-ins. Your primary focus will be on building a trusting and therapeutic relationship with the young person, supporting them with daily routines, emotional regulation, and social development. You will be expected to work closely with the wider team and external professionals to follow individualised care plans and behaviour support strategies. This includes helping with everyday tasks such as preparing meals, encouraging education, promoting life skills, and ensuring the home remains a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
You will be required to maintain accurate daily records, respond appropriately to any incidents, and support the young person through moments of emotional distress with sensitivity and calm. A key part of your role will also involve promoting independence while offering the consistency and reassurance that is vital to young people who have experienced trauma or instability. Reflective practice, a commitment to safeguarding, and a professional approach are essential qualities for this role.
While experience working in a residential care setting or with young people is preferred, it is not essential. We are looking for individuals who are compassionate, resilient, and genuinely committed to improving the life of a vulnerable young person. Ideally, candidates will hold or be working towards a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification. A full enhanced DBS check will be required prior to employment, and while a driving licence is preferred, it is not essential.
This is a deeply rewarding role that offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact. In return for your dedication, we offer a competitive rate of pay, a fixed monthly rota for improved work-life balance, and ongoing support from a passionate and experienced management team.
If you are ready to make a difference in a child's life and want to be part of a home that truly puts young people first, we would love to hear from you. for more information please email darrelpenn@onenesschildrenscareltd.co.uk or ring 07785698179
