Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living and home care environments. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist clients with mobility or transfers. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport. Engage in hospice care when needed, providing comfort and support to clients and their families during difficult times. Implement first aid procedures when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all clients.

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, home care, or hospice care is highly desirable. Knowledge of first aid practices and medication administration is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed. Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to care. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and dignity at all times. Relevant qualifications in health and social care are advantageous but not mandatory.
