Support Workers
to provide person-centred care to individuals with a range of support needs across community and home settings.
We're looking for people who can build positive relationships, encourage independence, and offer consistent, empathetic support. You'll be part of a team that enables individuals to lead active, fulfilling lives--whether that's through day-to-day routines, sensory-based activities, or community involvement.
About the Role:
You will work closely with individuals who may use alternative communication methods such as Makaton, gestures, or facial expressions. Patience, attentiveness, and a willingness to learn are key. A calm and reassuring approach will help those you support feel safe, respected, and understood.
Support may be provided on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, depending on individual needs. This role involves building routines, supporting with meaningful activities, and ensuring wellbeing in all environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Build trusting relationships and provide consistent, compassionate support.
Promote daily structure and routine tailored to individual preferences.
Support with sensory activities, personal care, and accessing the local community.
Work confidently as part of a team to deliver safe, reliable care.
Communicate effectively using both verbal and non-verbal methods.
Remain calm and observant, responding appropriately to varying needs.
Requirements:
Experience in Health & Social Care is preferred, especially with autism, epilepsy, or other additional needs.
Confidence in, or willingness to learn, alternative communication tools (training provided).
A calm, respectful, and person-centred approach to care.
Community engagement is a key part of the role.
Ability to work flexible hours, including part of a 2:1 support team where required.
