Support Workers
to provide person-centred care to a
young lady with Prader-Willi syndrome
in both her home and the community.
We're looking for people who can build positive relationships, encourage independence, and offer consistent, empathetic support. You'll be part of a small, dedicated team that enables her to lead a safe, fulfilling, and meaningful life -- supporting her daily routines, engaging in activities, and accessing the community.
About the Role:
You will work as part of a
2:1 support team
, providing structured and compassionate care. A key part of this role involves
managing food-related behaviours
, maintaining healthy routines, and supporting emotional wellbeing. Patience, attentiveness, and a willingness to learn are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Work effectively as part of a 2:1 support team.
Build a trusting relationship and provide consistent, compassionate support.
Promote daily structure and healthy routines tailored to her needs.
Support with meaningful activities, personal care, and community access.
Manage food-related behaviours with sensitivity and consistency.
Communicate clearly and respectfully, ensuring her voice is always heard.
Remain calm, observant, and adaptable to changing needs.
Requirements:
Experience in Health & Social Care is preferred, especially with learning disabilities or behavioural support needs.
Understanding of Prader-Willi syndrome or willingness to learn (training provided).
A calm, empathetic, and person-centred approach to care.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends where required.
Community engagement and confidence in facilitating outings are essential.
