At Fostering Together, the child comes first in everything we do.

We are a specialist independent fostering provider with extensive experience in supporting and developing carers for children with disabilities and complex medical needs. We share a clear vision to provide the highest quality foster placements for children and young people living with disabilities, to enable them to flourish in life.

We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide essential support to foster carers, on a casual basis, who are located in Polgate, in East Sussex.

As a Support Worker , you will work closely with the children, their families, and the Fostering Together multidisciplinary team, delivering personalised support and care, helping the children and young people achieve greater independence and quality of life.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting children and young people with leisure, educational and sporting activities; Undertaking specific pieces of work, with children and young people, as identified by supervising social workers and placing authorities to achieve defined outcomes; Creating positive relationships with children and young people, meeting their needs, and keeping them safe at all times; Producing reports of work undertaken; including evidence of how work undertaken meets outcomes; Supervising and documenting contact visits between children and young people and their family members; and Contributing to the ongoing development of the service.

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience of working with children and young people; Experience in providing support for individuals with disabilities and complex needs; Familiarity with following care plans; Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with children, families, and the wider team; Good report writing and record keeping skills; and A valid driving licence and access to a car for supporting clients during outings or appointments.

Pay: 13.50 per hour
