About the Role




At Real Life Options, we provide person-centred support that empowers people to live life on their own terms. This role is based in supported accommodation, where you'll be providing one-to-one support for an adult with autism, a learning disability, and communication difficulties. The individual is non-verbal, uses Makaton, and may display some challenging behaviour.


You'll play a vital role in helping them lead a fulfilling life, from assisting with daily routines to supporting their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. This is a great opportunity to join an experienced and friendly team and make a genuine difference every day.


What You'll Do




Provide personal care, including support with bathing, dressing, and toilet assistance Administer medication safely and accurately Prepare meals of the person's choice and support with eating where required Support with household tasks, cleaning, laundry, and organising repairs Support and encourage involvement in community activities and daily routines Build trusting relationships with the person, their family, and external professionals Accompany and support the person to attend healthcare and other appointments Maintain clear and accurate written records of support provided Follow and contribute to individualised support plans and risk assessments Work confidently as part of a team and independently during lone working shifts Participate in sleepover shifts as part of a 24-hour rota

We're looking for someone who is:


Compassionate, respectful, and person-centred Calm, patient, and resilient - particularly in situations involving challenging behaviour Honest and professional in all areas of their work Able to use initiative and problem-solving skills An excellent communicator (verbal and written) Reliable, flexible, and committed to delivering high-quality support Willing to learn and develop, especially around autism, communication, and behaviour
You don't need experience - just the right attitude, willingness to learn, and a passion for supporting others.


Requirements




Must be able to work as part of a team and in a lone working capacity Enhanced PVG required (we'll support your application) Ideally based in the north/northwest Glasgow area Open to both male and female applicants
