Job Overview

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in Care Homes. Your primary responsibility will be to support clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting their independence. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for those in need.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition. Assist with medication administration as per care plans. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being. Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship. Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques for heavy lifting tasks.

Skills

Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care is highly desirable. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and general patient care practices. Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergency situations. Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients' needs. Proficient in meal preparation and understanding dietary requirements. Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.21-12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
