Caring Alternatives has a vacancy for experienced Support Workers to join our team providing outcome focused, individualised support for clients with learning disabilities. We always take a pro-active, holistic and person-centred approach to enable people to achieve their stated goals. The ideal candidate will provide:

Key Responsibilities:

Emotional Support:

Offer empathetic listening, practical advice, and guidance to help individuals feel understood and validated.

Daily Living Assistance:

Support with with personal care, eating, medication management, and household chores.

Monitoring and Interventions:

Observe changes in behaviour or mood, monitor medication use, and provide crisis support when necessary.

Developing Care Plans:

Collaborate with individuals to create personalised care plans that address their specific needs, goals, and challenges.

Skill Development:

Help individuals develop personal skills, engage in hobbies, and access community services and social activities.

Advocacy and Empowerment:

Advocate for the rights of individuals and empower them to take control of their mental health, promoting independence and self-confidence.

Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience working with individuals who have a learning disability. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.

Flexible working hours, 8 hour day shifts, sleep-in shifts (16 hours from 5 PM to 9 AM) Weekends off on a rota basis. 5.6 weeks holiday per year and access to a pension scheme.
