We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
Provide specialised care for individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other cognitive impairments
Support clients with medication administration following prescribed protocols
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Manage behaviour effectively and implement care plans to promote positive outcomes
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring safe transportation
Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance clients' quality of life
Assist with heavy lifting or physical tasks as necessary, ensuring safety at all times
Qualifications
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, home care, or hospice care is preferred
Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, and senior care practices is desirable
Certification in first aid and CPR is advantageous
Valid driving licence for transportation duties
Strong caregiving skills with the ability to handle behavioural challenges effectively
Excellent communication skills and compassionate demeanour
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Flexibility to work various shifts including days and evenings as required
