We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team.

At IPA Support Services, we provide high-quality supported accommodation for young people aged 16-18 who are preparing to transition into independent adulthood. As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping residents develop life skills, access education and employment opportunities, and maintain safe, secure tenancies.

Duties
As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
Assisting clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
Maintaining accurate records of client progress and any changes in behaviour or health status.
Provide day-to-day support to young people in supported accommodation settings
Build professional, trusting relationships and act as a positive role model
Deliver tailored support in line with individual support and risk management plans
Assist with life skills development, including budgeting, cooking, personal care routines, and tenancy management
Promote engagement with education, training, and employment opportunities
Carry out health & safety, welfare, and room checks in line with policies and procedures
Monitor and manage incidents, safeguarding concerns, and challenging behaviour appropriately and sensitively
Maintain accurate records and case notes using digital care systems
Work collaboratively with external agencies including social workers, personal advisors, and education or mental health professionals
Support young people to develop resilience, independence, and a sense of responsibility for their future
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
Essential:
Minimum of 1 year's experience supporting young people or vulnerable individuals
Desirable:
Experience in supported accommodation, semi-independent settings, youth work or housing services
Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, Youth Work or equivalent (or working towards)
Knowledge of the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023
Basic IT and report-writing skills
Ability to build respectful, non-judgemental relationships and apply trauma-informed approaches
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Understanding of safeguarding principles and professional boundaries
Resilience to work in emotionally and behaviourally challenging situations
Willingness to work on a rota (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts)
Enhanced DBS (Children's Workforce) or willingness to obtain one
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
