Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. Your support will be vital in enhancing the quality of life for those you care for, particularly seniors and individuals with specific health conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia.

Duties

As a Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

Providing personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming. Supporting clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation and medication administration. Assisting with mobility and transferring clients safely to prevent falls or injuries. Engaging clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Implementing behaviour management strategies for clients with challenging behaviours. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Documenting client progress and reporting any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate professionals. Driving clients to appointments or social activities as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient care practices, particularly in senior care, hospice care, Alzheimer's care, and dementia care. Certification in first aid is an advantage. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs. Strong communication skills and a caring attitude towards individuals requiring support. Experience in caregiving or home care settings is beneficial. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as necessary.
