We are looking for a kind, reliable, and enthusiastic
Support Worker
to provide long-term support to individuals living in their own homes. This role focuses on promoting independence, building confidence, and enabling individuals to participate fully in their communities.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable around animals--
particularly large dogs
--and committed to forming positive, lasting relationships with the people they support. A
full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
, as you will be required to travel between appointments and support clients in accessing their local communities.
Responsibilities
Provide person-centred support tailored to each individual's needs and goals.
Assist with daily routines such as personal care, meal preparation, and managing household tasks.
Support individuals to attend appointments, engage in social and recreational activities, and access community services.
Encourage independence and promote skill-building through everyday opportunities.
Build strong, trusting relationships and offer emotional support as needed.
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of individuals at all times, including supporting mobility and administering medication where required.
Maintain clear and accurate records of support provided, achievements, and any changes in needs.
Work respectfully in clients' homes and demonstrate confidence around
animals
, especially
large dogs
, who may be part of the household.
Travel between client homes and in the community--
driving is essential
for this role.
Experience and Requirements
Previous experience in support work, community care, or similar roles is desirable but not essential for the right candidate with the right values.
Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in supporting people to live fulfilling, independent lives.
Comfortable around
pets
, including
large dogs
, and respectful of their place in the home.
Able to follow care and support plans, complete accurate documentation, and communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
Must have a
valid UK driving licence
and access to a reliable vehicle.
