Job Summary



As a Night Support Staff member at Serenity Residential Care Ltd, you will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents during night time hours. You will provide personal care, monitor residents needs, and carry out household tasks to maintain a calm and secure environment throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities



- Provide personal care and support based on individual care plans(e.g., washing, dressing, toileting, mobility).

- Carry out regular checks on residents and respond promptly to calls or signs of distress.

- Monitor and record any changes in residents' physical or emotional condition and report concerns to the Team Leader or on-call Manager.

- Complete Night time cleaning duties to maintain hygiene and safety in communal areas and residents rooms when required.

- Ensure peaceful and quiet environment conducive to restful sleep for residents.

- Accurately document care provided and significant observations in care records.

- Support residents who may be awake during the night with reassurance, companionship, or activities .

- Follow safeguarding, medication, infection control, and health & safety protocols at all times.

- Promote dignity, respect, and choice in all interactions with residents.

Person Specification



Essential



- Caring, calm, and patient nature with the ability to work independently.

- Ability to work as part of a small, close-knit care team- Compassionate, patient, and reliable

- Good communication skills (spoken and written)

- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends

- Reliable and punctual with good attention to detail

- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and safeguarding

- Willingness to undertake responsibilities

Desirable



- Previous experience in a care setting (residential or domiciliary)

- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it)

- Basic knowledge of safeguarding, mental capacity, and person-centred care

Working Hours



Night shifts run from 8pm in the night to 8am in the morning. Night staff shall work a 12 hour shift a minimum of 3 times a week.
