Starlight Support Services is seeking dedicated and experienced
Support Workers
to provide high-quality, person-centred care to
adults and young people aged 16-18 with complex needs
, including autism, learning disabilities, and behaviours that challenge. You will be working across our
CQC-registered supported living services
and within
clients' own homes
, supporting them to live as independently and safely as possible.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent, respectful, and tailored support based on individual care plans
Assist with
personal care routines
, medication administration, meal preparation, and hygiene tasks
Build positive, professional relationships with individuals to promote
emotional well-being and resilience
Support the development of independent living skills (e.g., budgeting, cooking, managing routines)
Accompany clients to medical appointments, education placements, or community activities
Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and CQC regulatory standards at all times
Monitor and report changes in behaviour, physical health, or emotional state
Implement de-escalation strategies and provide structure for those who present with
behaviours that challenge
Maintain accurate and timely records of care and support delivered
Promote a safe, nurturing environment that respects choice, dignity, and individual rights
Requirements
Minimum 2
year of experience
supporting individuals with complex needs or behaviours that challenge (mandatory)
Experience working with either
adults or young people (16-18)
in a supported living or residential setting
Understanding of
CQC regulations
and person-centred care principles
Excellent communication, teamwork, and de-escalation skills
Flexibility
to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to care
UK driving licence is desirable but not essential
Enhanced
DBS check
and reference checks will be required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour
