We are currently seeking a female support worker to assist a client with a Spinal Cord Injury living in the Rothwell area of Northamptonshire. This is a rewarding role that offers the opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life by supporting their independence and daily living.

Our client lives at home with his father and has regular visiting family members including a dog. He leads a varied and active lifestyle and staff will be required to support him with going to the gym and social activities as well as holidays.

Staff must be flexible and able to work a share of weekends. Cooking and cleaning duties required.

Location:

Rothwell, Northamptonshire

Roles Available:

Part time - 1 or 2 shifts per week

Shift Pattern:

26 hour shift including sleepover - working 8am to 9:30am the following day

Pay Rates:



14.00 per hour weekday day rate 15.00 per hour weekend day rate 76.00 per sleepover
1.00 per hour less during probationary period

Role Responsibilities:



Supporting the client with day-to-day personal care and mobility Accompanying the client to the gym, social activities, and on holidays Assisting with cooking, cleaning, and other household tasks Promoting independence while ensuring safety and well-being

Ideal Candidate



Essential:



A full, clean driving licence and willingness to drive the client's adapted vehicle A positive, proactive and empathetic approach Excellent communication skills Flexible and reliable Comfortable around dogs

Preferred:



Previous experience of complex care and/or spinal cord injuries

JOB DESCRIPTION:



Job Purpose:

To support your client with their day-to-day living, promoting their independence and supporting them to live a fulfilled life ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.

Internal and Management:

This role will report to: Registered Manager/Care Manager

Key Duties/Responsibilities for our Support Workers:



Supporting your client to safely lead a fulfilling and more independent life by:

Provide practical support for your client and their family, such as helping with personal care, cooking, household tasks and paperwork Assist and encourage your client to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individual's choice Support and monitor your client's healthcare needs, including administering medication and other clinical tasks Help your clients to access community facilities and be included in community groups, if they so wish Understand their communication needs and adapt your own communication style accordingly Keep accurate, up to date records of all the care you provide Work positively with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times Participate in learning and development opportunities as required

As a term of employment, you may be required to undertake other duties and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required. This forms part of your employment contract.
