Hierarchy Support Services are looking for people who could help support our service users with all aspects of independent living. We offer a housing support & supported living service to assist adults with learning disabilities / mental illness to fulfil their lives to the maximum. This job post covers areas throughout West Lothian.

We provide comprehensive training to ensure our staff are set up for success. As a result, you will be able to identify the needs of individuals who have Learning Disabilities and other underlying additional support needs. You will have the capability to be able to manage varying support situations as they arise and be experienced in dealing with a wide range of needs ensuring that individuals are kept safe and secure at all times.

A real understanding and compassion will enable these vulnerable groups to develop their interests and assist with everyday living, health needs and social inclusion whilst actively encouraging independence.

Main duties may involve: getting out and about in the community, participating in social activities with other service users and colleagues, grocery shopping, supporting and assisting with household tasks, providing general emotional support and all other aspects of independent living.

The ideal candidate must have:

A commitment to providing high quality support to our service users A desire to help others achieve their goals and live their lives to the best of their ability Strong communication and interpersonal skills An ability to work independently in the community and as part of a team A willingness to work towards a relevant qualification (SVQ2) with our support Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including early mornings, evenings, nights and weekends (various shift patterns available including condensed hours of 3x12 hour shifts) All successful candidates will be required to become a PVG scheme member as well as register with the SSSC. Full UK Driving Licence preferred however not essential
