Job Overview


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including senior care, assisted living, and hospice environments. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence.

Duties



Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status. Support individuals with behaviour management techniques when necessary. Assist with mobility and heavy lifting as required, ensuring safety at all times. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel. Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and other support staff to develop personalised care plans. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and well-being.

Skills



Experience in senior care or hospice care is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care practices is an asset. Familiarity with childcare principles can be beneficial for those supporting families. First aid certification is preferred to ensure safety during care provision. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively when assisting clients. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues. Empathy and patience are essential traits for providing compassionate support. A proactive approach to problem-solving and behaviour management is advantageous.

Pay: 12.21-16.29 per hour
