We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The Support Worker will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those in our care.
Duties
Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Support clients with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with specific needs.
Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to health and safety protocols.
Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client conditions to the appropriate personnel.
Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed, ensuring their safe transport.
Qualifications
Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar environments is highly desirable.
Previous experience with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is an advantage.
Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial.
Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards client needs.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively and sensitively.
Excellent communication skills to interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as required.
