We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing care and assistance to individuals in a residential home for clients with Mental Health. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in your care through support, companionship, and practical assistance.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care and support to individuals, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
Assist with medication management and ensure adherence to prescribed treatments.
Engage in behaviour management strategies to support individuals with challenging behaviours.
Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing all housekeeping duties.
Document care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Requirements
Previous experience in care desired but not essential
Applicants must be over the age of 18
Relevant qualifications or training in care desired but not essential
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively while maintaining a calm demeanour.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, sleeper shifts and weekends if necessary.
