Support Worker Young Adult Complex Care
Job Description
Complex Care Personal Assistant required to join a small team who support two young men living in a purpose built bungalow. Our current requirement is for someone able to commit to long day shifts plus 3/4 waking nights a month OR waking nights with occasional day shifts.
Both gentlemen have 2;1 staffing during the day allowing you the time to deliver quality person centred care . They have a waking night and a sleep in person at night. Staff generally work primarily with one gentlemen with occasional shifts with the other. Life is busy as they access a wide range of activities both with in the house and in the local community. The team are supported by therapists with regular physio, occupational therapy, hydrotherapy and speech and language therapy .
One gentleman enjoys creative writing , music - both making his own and going to gigs, has a competitive streak when playing boccia, likes the outdoors . The other enjoys being read to, playing board games and loves numbers.
Both require support with all personal care and health needs including PEG feeds and moving and handling , in the use of assistive technology and in organising a busy schedule.
Confident use of computers and a
FULL UK driving licence
are essential requirements . A DBS check will be carried out. Previous experience is preferred however we provide comprehensive training . Shifts are variable and include weekends and sleep in and waking nights .We are unable to provide sponsorship .
We are currently piloting a new pay structure of 15ph weekdays with enhancements for weekends and waking nights (up to 17.45)
