Stepping Stone Projects is an established and growing charity providing quality homes and services to help prevent homelessness and transform lives across the North West.

Our support services are aimed at helping our customers develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to maintain a stable home and a structured lifestyle before assisting them in the process of securing or retaining permanent independent accommodation.

Rochdale ABEN

is a short term, temporary accommodation service where we receive referrals from the homeless team in Rochdale. These are then triaged, and we provide support for single people and families, until they find longer term accommodation either social housing or in the private rented sector.

We work closely with the Team Around homelessness service to co-ordinate the referrals and ensure that their needs are met during their stay with us.

About the Role



As a Supported Housing Worker, you'll play a key role in helping our customers sustain their tenancies and live safely and independently. You'll be responsible for:

Carrying out needs and risk assessments, inductions, and support planning Providing practical support around budgeting, welfare rights, education, employment, and health Liaising with external agencies including housing departments, DWP, and health services Supporting customers to access training, employment, and community resources Monitor tenancy compliance, rent payments, and property safety Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and incident reporting Participate in team meetings, training, and service development Ensure adherence to the Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023.

We would love to hear from you if:



You have experience working in any of the following fields: supported housing, housing advice work, youth and community work or work supporting homeless people. You have experience In using computerised systems frequently, in a busy working environment. You have the ability to support, co-operate and 'teamwork' with others to achieve common objectives. You have the ability to work with clients who have complex needs and who may be challenging to work with, and to respond to conflict situations in a calm yet firm manner. You have knowledge of basic housing management tasks, i.e. rent collection, tenancy agreements and arrears management. You have the ability to act as an advocate and liaise with the relevant agencies.

Please note the successful candidate will be required to hold, or be prepared to undertake and attain the Children & Young Persons Workforce Level 3 qualification within 24 months of taking up the post.
