Are you passionate about supporting young people and don't mind getting your hands dirty? Groundwork Yorkshire is looking for a
motivated, patient and hands-on Support Worker
to join our Green Skills team.
You'll support up to
4-6 young people (aged 17-19 with EHCPs)
as they gain real workplace experience, helping them build confidence, develop employability skills and transition into work. This is a varied role combining
outdoor practical work
,
one-to-one support
, and
classroom assistance with Maths, English and employability
.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To support the interns with their day-to-day activities/work/behavior whilst on placement.
2. Support interns to develop a range of soft skills to help them in the future, including methods of managing behavior.
3. To support learners in applying for and preparing for their next steps into work.
4. To support learners in the creation of portfolios of work, working closely with other delivery staff to manage and integrate the gathering of evidence for accredited programmes.
5. To assist the team in recording for individual learners.
6. Monitor and review learner progress, ensuring monitoring systems are accurately capturing data, providing advice and support throughout the learners' agreed programme.
7. Managing communication skills and a tailored approach to different individuals if required, taking account of different perspectives, personalities, behaviors, and cultures.
8. Ensure the maintenance of internal electronic and hard copy information systems that record relevant learner outcomes and support the requirements of Groundwork, funders and partners.
9. Work with the green skills team to ensure the timetable developed is suitable to the needs of the young people.
10. Play an active role in the team and actively promote a positive image of Groundwork Yorkshire.
