We are seeking to recruit talented people to the role of a Support Worker with the right values, skills and behaviours to work in our services across Luton for full time and part time work. We require a strong candidate with experience in complex needs and mental health knowledge with over 12 months experience.
About the Supported Living Support Worker Role
The emotional and social support necessary to enable the individual to build resilience, increase confidence and build meaningful relationships
Practical, enabling support, including helping individuals to develop daily living skills, manage their finances, maximise their incomes and manage their home environment
Practical, enabling support to maintain tenancy ensuring appropriate benefits being applied for/rent being paid and supporting with correspondence.
Assisting with shopping and cooking and encouraging a healthy diet and lifestyle (default is fresh food is cooked rather than a reliance on ready meals)
Supporting and assisting Individuals to identify, locate and participate fully in education, learning , including travel training, volunteering and employment
Supporting and assisting individuals to identify, engage with and maintain social, recreational and leisure opportunities in their communities
Support to maintain and develop health and physical wellbeing, including attending and supporting health appointments and mainstream healthcare services
Support to develop and maintain family, social and community relationships and avoid social isolation
Support to maintain and develop skills in personal care; and, when needed, provide direct personal care
Preparing individuals to live more independently (which may involve moving), using evidence based approaches to skills development
Group activities/Key worker sessions
Liaising with external professionals
Enabling them to maintain their tenancies and to lead a meaningful and worthwhile life within the community giving practical help, care, guidance and support as detailed within their individual care plans and risk assessments.
