Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and culinary arts, specialising in sushi and Japanese cuisine. This role offers an opportunity to showcase creativity, precision, and dedication to delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Sushi Chef will be responsible for preparing authentic sushi, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties



Prepare a variety of sushi and Japanese dishes according to traditional recipes and restaurant standards Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used efficiently Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station in compliance with food safety regulations Assist in creating new sushi menus and specials to enhance customer satisfaction Monitor portion control and presentation of dishes before serving Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service hours Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times, including proper handling of raw fish and other ingredients Serve dishes with professionalism and attentiveness to guest needs

Requirements



Proven experience in food preparation, particularly in sushi or Japanese cuisine Strong skills in cooking, meal preparation, and food safety practices Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is essential, with a focus on high-quality service delivery Knowledge of culinary techniques related to sushi making and presentation Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team Food safety certification is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to undergo training if necessary

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.22-15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 50 per week
