Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with a particular focus on sushi and Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. You will play a vital role in ensuring food safety and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble Hot sauce/ sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with precision and attention to detail. Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared in accordance with food safety standards. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils used in sushi preparation. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management for ordering supplies. Stay updated on current food trends and techniques related to sushi preparation. Provide exceptional service by presenting dishes attractively and responding to customer inquiries about menu items.

Requirements

Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting. Strong culinary skills with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques specific to sushi. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in meal preparation. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to create visually appealing dishes. Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team. A passion for Japanese cuisine and willingness to learn new techniques is highly desirable. Pay: 13.50-14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
