to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project. This role is integral to ensuring environmental and sustainability best practices are embedded throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with construction, procurement, and environmental teams to manage carbon performance, meet compliance standards, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with sustainability and environmental standards on a major infrastructure contract.
Support carbon reduction efforts including setting baselines, targets, and tracking key performance indicators.
Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to ensure sustainability KPIs are embedded and met.
Participate in internal and external sustainability meetings, including monthly updates and consortium coordination calls.
Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive Carbon Management Plan in line with PAS 2080:2023.
Provide regular progress updates to senior project stakeholders.
Promote a collaborative approach to sustainability across project and site teams.
Contribute to social value, biodiversity net gain, and circular economy initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills and Experience Required:
Minimum 5 years in a sustainability role, preferably within infrastructure or construction.
On-site construction experience essential.
Strong knowledge of PAS 2080 and carbon management principles.
Experience with BREEAM, CCS, and Science-Based Targets.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence diverse project teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong documentation/reporting abilities.
Client-facing experience and the ability to manage external stakeholder expectations.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
A Master's degree or professional certifications in environmental management are desirable.
Full UK driving license required.
