Prime Objectives:



We are looking for a proactive and analytical Sustainability Analyst to support the delivery of our sustainability and ESG strategy across our operations in the fastener manufacturing and distribution industry.

Working closely with our Sustainability Manager, you'll play a key role in reducing our carbon footprint, improving resource efficiency, and ensuring we meet our environmental and social responsibilities. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent postgraduate or early-career professional who's passionate about making a real difference to drive continuous improvement across the company's distribution, logistics, and supply chain activities.

Key Responsibilities



Support the implementation of the company's sustainability strategy, focusing on energy efficiency, waste reduction, carbon management, and responsible sourcing. Contribute to carbon accounting, reduction planning, and reporting, including monitoring performance and supporting compliance with frameworks such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Assist in environmental management system (EMS) activities, including data collection, internal audits, and compliance with ISO 14001 and related standards. Research and advise on environmental and sustainability legislation, ensuring the company remains compliant with current and upcoming UK and EU requirements. Help develop and deliver training and awareness programmes to embed sustainable working practices across teams and departments. Prepare reports, sustainability dashboards, and presentations for senior management and external stakeholders. Support social responsibility and ethical sourcing initiatives, strengthening engagement with suppliers and customers around ESG commitments.

Key Skills and Attributes



A strong understanding of environmental and social sustainability principles, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering context. Knowledge of carbon reduction frameworks, CBAM, and relevant UK/EU environmental legislation and compliance. Excellent data analysis and reporting skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong IT literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data management systems. Confident communicator with the ability to engage across all levels of the organisation. Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently. Experience with environmental or energy management systems (e.g. ISO 14001,) is desirable.

Qualifications and Experience



Degree or postgraduate qualification in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not essential. Some prior experience or placement within manufacturing, industrial operations, or supply chain environments would be an advantage.
