About the role
The Sustainability Engagement & Communication Manager plays a key role within the Corporate Communications team, supporting RX's commitment to delivering Net Zero Carbon events. This position is responsible for fostering engagement and alignment across internal event teams, external partners, and customers to ensure sustainability is integrated throughout the event lifecycle. Working across 25 global Business Units and more than 300 events, the role leads the development and implementation of strategic communication initiatives that promote sustainable practices. Responsibilities include creating impactful case studies, managing cross-functional projects, and ensuring consistent messaging with measurable engagement outcomes. Success in this role requires effective collaboration across diverse teams and regions, with a focus on delivering communications that advance the company's sustainability objectives and encourage continuous improvement in event delivery.
ResponsibilitiesLead the creation and updates of internal sustainability learning materials, including the RX Sustainability Playbook, tailored for teams such as event directors, marketing, operations, and sales.
Manage the rollout of these materials through initiatives such as webinars, with the support of the global Sustainability Council.
Develop external communications toolkits to help event teams showcase sustainability efforts to their customers.
Collaborate with the Global Corporate Communications team to promote RX's sustainability achievements and integrate content into the global communications plan.
Maintain and update sustainability content on the global website (www.rxglobal.com).
Identify and submit entries for external awards to gain recognition for sustainability initiatives.
Create educational resources for stakeholders, including exhibitors and suppliers, such as customer communications.
Support mandatory external sustainability annual reporting, including the production of reports and case studies to highlight progress and impact.
RequirementsStrong understanding of sustainability practices or a passion for sustainability / green initiatives.
Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across diverse teams and business units.
Excellent communication skills--written, verbal, and visual--with experience presenting to varied audiences.
Skilled in Microsoft Office and social media platforms; familiarity with Gen AI platforms and Canva is a plus.
Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines, with limited supervision.
Comfortable working in dynamic environments and making informed decisions with limited information.
Experience in internal communications, social media, or public relations within a corporate or matrix-style environment.
