Role Purpose




Wood Mackenzie has an exciting opportunity for someone to join the global Marketing Leadership Team. Wood Mackenzie moved under Private Equity ownership in 2023 and is now executing on its Value Creation Plan to deliver high growth. We are looking for someone who thrives within a fast-paced, dynamic global business and who has a keen focus on delivering results and building high performing teams.


We are looking for an SVP of Growth Marketing who is a strategic and visionary leader responsible for driving all aspects of demand generation across our three core Segments -Upstream & Carbon Management, Commodities, and Power & Renewables - and our Consulting business. As part of the wider Growth function, they will also rebuild our ABM team, oversee our Lead Management team, integrate and optimize the digital marketing team and stand up a Customer Marketing team.


The successful candidate will have a strong track record of developing and executing growth strategies to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. This role is critical to driving our next phase of growth, requiring a leader with a deep understanding of campaign planning, customer behaviour, industry knowledge, and who has exceptional communication skills, and the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team.


This role sits on the Marketing Leadership team reporting to the CMO. The successful candidate will also be part of the Wood Mackenzie Extended Leadership Team (top 100 leaders across the business) that is run by the CEO. The direct reports for this role are currently based in Houston, London, Gurugram and Edinburgh and the wider team includes people based in Mexico, Calgary, Singapore, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur and Saudi. This role will engage with the wider Marketing teams and stakeholders across the globe.

Main Responsibilities



Growth Strategy

: Develop and lead the overall growth strategy, encompassing customer acquisition, cross-sell, and retention across all marketing channels. Appropriately support at scale product roadmap deliverables to generate significant market interest from prospects and customers.

Campaign Execution

: Optimize the team's campaign design and execution processes to make sure we are being data-led about segmentation, channel performance and budget investment.

Sales & Segment alignment

: Work closely with Sales & Segment leadership to align on priorities, target setting, pipeline build, and funnel support to speed up conversions and deliver revenue.

Embrace AI

: Look at opportunities to use AI across tools, tech, data and content development to better understand the customer journey, propensity to purchase, and optimize channel conversion.

ABM

: Rebuild the ABM team to support major renewals, and deliver 1:1 and 1:Few campaigns to support engagement, and new market entry.

Digital Marketing

: Integrate this team into the Growth function, review paid media channels and SEO, and work with the team on optimization of process, reporting and performance.

Lead Management

: Further optimize inbound and outbound lead management teams in support of ambitious new business growth targets.

Customer Marketing

: Stand up a new team to work collaboratively with the Customer team to help increase retention, drive up adoption, and open up additional growth opportunities.

Team Leadership

: Build, manage and coach a high-performing global team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation to meet the demands of a high-growth company under PE ownership.

About You



To be successful in this role you'll be a senior Marketing professional with a track record of strong revenue performance, experience activating impactful demand generation campaigns, and experience managing multiple teams within a large global organization. It will be beneficial if you have some knowledge of the natural resources, energy & renewables markets or have worked in a data and analytics or SaaS business.


You will have:

At least 20 years of proven experience in Marketing A growth mindset and solid strategic thinking Experience of working within a B2B environment Advantageous to have experience of working in a data/analytics/tech/SaaS business Strong financial acumen and ability to demonstrate robust ROI for all activities Strong communication, presentation, story-telling and writing skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and engage peers Demonstrated experience of stakeholder management Experience of working autonomously within a matrix organisation Hands on experience of building integrated teams Project and budget management skills and attention to detail

Working Expectations



We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future. While this is expected to be a full-time role, flexible working arrangements will be considered. Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
