Patcham Water Survival Group:

I own an independent swim school in Patcham, Brighton. Teaching children from 4.5 years to adults at all levels of ability. Lessons take place Monday to Friday term time only, the hours vary each day between 4:30pm-8:20pm.

I'm looking for an experienced or newly qualified Swim England/STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher to join my small friendly team as soon as possible.

The hourly rate of pay is between 16.00 - 20.00 an hour, depending on experience. The ideal candidate must be a competent swimmer and be able to swim at least 100m continuously on front and back.

We are looking for dedicated teachers who have enthusiasm and a passion for teaching swimming.

Responsibilities and Duties:

To deliver safe, enjoyable, effective swimming lessons to children and adults of all abilities. E.g. non swimmer all the way through to advanced swimmers.

Motivate, encourage and praise children regularly.

Earlier sessions will require you to teach in the water. You may also be required to demonstrate skills/strokes.

Act professionally at all times whilst on the school site.

Arrive 10 minutes prior to the beginning of lessons, so that you can be briefed by the manager/supervisor before teaching.

Ensure the poolside is set up, ready for lessons before children arrive.

Help tidy the poolside and check changing rooms at the end of each evening.

Ability to interact with children and adults.

Establish good working relationships with staff and helpers.

Polite and courteous at all times, regardless of the situation.

Qualifications:

Swim England/STA Level 2 Swimming Teacher Certificate. (Required)

Current First Aid Certificate or be prepared to complete this within the first term of employment.

Completed a Safeguarding Course within the last two years or be prepared to complete one within the first month of employment.

If you have not achieved some of the qualifications above, the successful candidate must be willing to achieve them as and when required.

Additional Requirements:

Valid DBS enhanced check.
